  1. Week 44: Pumpkin Earthquake Cake

    Some may call this a “dump cake” in that you dump the ingredients into the pan and bake it. However, as I explained in my Black Forest Earthquake Cake post, a “dump cake” sounds so unappetizing. Therefore, this is an earthquake cake. What’s underneath that crumbly topping is essentially pumpkin pie filling, making it a delicious treat to enjoy during the holidays. (more…)

  3. Week 39: Butterscotch Cake

    Gosh this Butterscotch Bundt is pretty! This cake started out as a non-chocolate version of the Tunnel of Fudge Cake. But then things went awry and it turned into more of a “ribbon of butterscotch” as opposed to a tunnel. It all turned out okay, more than okay. I’ll explain. (more…)

    We’ve all been in this position before. You’re home. You want some cake, but you don’t want to deal with the burden of a whole cake lurking in the kitchen. Cupcake? Nahh. Try mug cake!   5. Week 9: Turtle Cake

    Before I  baked a Turtle Cake, I was curious as to how the term “Turtle” came to be associated with chocolaty, nutty, caramel goodness. According to the DeMet’s website, “TURTLES® are chocolate confections that are shaped like Turtles.
